The Importance of being “Mobile Friendly”

Over half of all searches conducted online take place on a mobile device. If your website isn’t “mobile friendly”, it’s likely you’re losing customers. When you consider your own online habits, what do you do when a website doesn’t format properly on your “smart phone”? You probably find your information elsewhere. In fact, 50% of mobile users will abandon a web page if it takes more than 10 seconds to load, and 60% won’t return to the site according to hostingfacts.com.

 

The #1 website in the world, Google understands the importance of being mobile friendly and that’s precisely why they changed their search algorithm as of April 21, 2015, appropriately named
responsive-web-design“Mobilegeddon”. An algorithm is defined as “a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer”. Simply put, “Mobilegeddon” will basically favor Mobile Friendly websites, displaying them first and demoting sites that don’t favor a mobile friendly interface on Smart Phones and Tablets.
