The Importance of being “Mobile Friendly”
Over half of all searches conducted online take place on a mobile device. If your website isn’t “mobile friendly”, it’s likely you’re losing customers. When you consider your own online habits, what do you do when a website doesn’t format properly on your “smart phone”? You probably find your information elsewhere. In fact, 50% of mobile users will abandon a web page if it takes more than 10 seconds to load, and 60% won’t return to the site according to hostingfacts.com.
The #1 website in the world, Google understands the importance of being mobile friendly and that’s precisely why they changed their search algorithm as of April 21, 2015, appropriately named
“Mobilegeddon”. An algorithm is defined as “a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer”. Simply put, “Mobilegeddon” will basically favor Mobile Friendly websites, displaying them first and demoting sites that don’t favor a mobile friendly interface on Smart Phones and Tablets.
